Charotte Mason-Inspired Homeschool Guide & Educator

With over 25 years of experience teaching children in the early elementary years, I now work with homeschool families who are seeking a calmer, more thoughtful approach to learning—one that honors the child as a whole person.

Over time, I found myself drawn to a more thoughtful approach to education—one that values curiosity over grades, growth over pressure, and relationship over pace. This perspective led me to work more closely with families, offering support that honors children as whole people and allows learning to unfold with purpose and joy.

Experience & Perspective

Experience Grounded in the Classroom—and Beyond

My work as an educator spans more than two decades, with the majority of my experience rooted in the early elementary years. I have taught children in kindergarten through third grade across a variety of settings, including traditional classrooms, Christian schools, charter schools, and online learning environments.

Throughout these years, I have worked closely with children who needed additional time, individualized instruction, or a different approach in order to thrive. This breadth of experience has shaped how I support families today—drawing from both classroom structure and the flexibility that homeschool learning allows.

Rather than focusing on grades alone, I look for meaningful growth, confidence, and understanding—often noticing progress that can be easy to overlook in larger classroom settings.

How I See Children and Learning

I believe children learn best in an environment that is calm, respectful, and rooted in meaningful relationships. Learning should invite curiosity, wonder, and engagement—not pressure or fear of failure.

My work is influenced by a Charlotte Mason–inspired, literature-rich approach that values living books, thoughtful discussion, and attention to each child’s unique interests and strengths. Children are not empty vessels to be filled, but whole people deserving of time, care, and encouragement.

How I See Children and Learning

  • Children are met where they are and supported with patience

  • Small growth is noticed, named, and celebrated

  • Confidence is nurtured alongside skill development

Working With Families

Supporting children well means working in partnership with their families. I value open communication, thoughtful collaboration, and a shared understanding of each child’s needs and goals.

Families can expect a calm, supportive learning environment where children feel safe to grow in confidence and skill. Progress is shared thoughtfully, with attention given to both measurable growth and the quieter signs of understanding that often emerge over time.

My goal is to support families in a way that feels respectful, encouraging, and aligned with their values—helping children experience learning as something meaningful and life-giving.
